E3 2020 Undergoing Some Serious Changes
Only four months are left for the biggest gaming event of the year E3, and things do not look good. Video game developers and publishers have completed their preparations to showcase the big event. The upcoming E3 that will take place in the Los Angeles convention centre has a lot of new things to get the coverage of media and attention of people. Along with the latest generation games and consoles going to be announced by PS5 and Xbox Series X, there are several other glitterings of the show to mark its 25th anniversary since the year 1995. The journey of 25 long years is always filled with many changes in the course of any company.
Here is an insight into the past few years of the E3, and the changes appeared in due course:-
History of E3
The inception of E3 in the year 1995 was a great even which introduced the world to the various incredible video games. It provided a platform to the publishers and video games developers to launch their games to the world and also served as the most significant trade shows to attract the gaming press all across the globe. It was the time of print media 25 years ago, and print media played a massive role in giving information to the people regarding all the latest events of E3.
With the evolution of online streaming in the last few years, The importance of E3 grew exponentially, and now the viewers could watch it online. Streaming services provide a new height to this trade show, and a lot of companies involved in developing video games began to exhibit their products on this platform. The fans started to admire the show more and more and termed it as the super bowl of video games. However, some questions began to rise in the minds of fans regarding the future of E3, when some big video games developing companies like Sony and EA remained absent from the show in the previous year and also this year.
The Current Concerns of E3
ESA is facing a lot of significant issues at present, which has a lot to do with the growing future of this event. There was a significant drop in the number of people who attended the game in the year 2019 in comparison to the consecutive last two years. ESA also has its agreement with Los Angeles Center, which may impact the growth potential of the E3 negatively.
Further, ESA faced a significant setback with its relations with the gaming press as the names, addresses, online accounts and phone numbers along with other information got released accidentally by the company. It impacted the relations and the credibility of the company negatively, and it will take some time to get the things healthy.
The other major problem the company facing is regarding the withdrawal of some major companies like Sony from the E3. Such withdrawals will affect the trade show adversely, and even Geoff Keighly, the producer of The Game Awards has also announced that he will not attend the E3 in the year 2020.

Although, E3 is confronting with many problems still the announcements of many developers and publishers which are going to attend E3 are giving positive indications about the future of this trade show. Some companies which are going to attend E3 are Capcom, Take-Two, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Microsoft, Bethesda, Nintendo, WB Games and Sega.
Third parties companies are also doing the heavy lifting to grab the attention of fans and the gaming industry with its innovative marketing strategy. The launch of Xbox series X by Microsoft in E3 will be accompanied by many other third parties company which will announce their games for the new generation gaming consoles.
