Pokémon Sword and Shield: Getting Shiny Pokémon

The shiny Pokémon is a trendy topic among gamers within Pokémon Sword and Shield. As the shiny Pokémon are rare and different colored creatures. They are hard to find in the game as the chances of an individual gamer to collect a shiny Pokémon is 1/4096. This is the main reason why every player is crazy about the shiny Pokémon. In this blog, we are sharing all the information about the shiny Pokémon and a proper workaround to catch them or increase your chances to get them.
About Shiny Hunting
  • You can’t tell by the appearance of any Pokémon whether it is shiny or not. As in the Pokémon Sword and Shield, you can only know about the shiny identity of a Pokémon in a battle.
  • In this version of the game, you are not getting a shiny Pokémon as the starter.
  • Don’t try to go to wild areas for catching the shiny Pokémon as their level is too high for you to catch in.
Shiny Pokémon and Super Shiny Pokémon
Several players throughout the world have stated that they have located a new variant of shiny Pokémon. Yes, they are correct, in this version of the game, there are two types of shinning Pokémon available. The regular shiny Pokémon has a glittering of stars effect around them whereas the so-called super shiny Pokémon has squares around them.
Increasing the Chance of getting a Shiny Pokémon
Using Catch Combos
To catch the shiny Pokémon, you need to first catch one Pokémon at least 25 times. To do it, you need to use catch combos sort. As the catch combos allow you to fight and catch the same Pokémon without even fighting a battle. When you catch a Pokémon 25 times., then the chance of catching a shiny will go up from 1/4096 to 1/2048.
Number of Pokémon Fought
You can also use the total fought feature of this game to increase your chance of encountering or catching a shiny Pokémon. In order to do it, you just need to use one Pokémon in several battles. You can also check these stats in your Pokédex. Your chances will eventually increase after fighting with the Pokémon at least 20 times. After 20 times, you can encounter a shiny Pokémon at any point, fight with it and catch it.
Shiny Charm
If you are eager about catching a shiny Pokémon, then you must need a Shiny Charm. You can get the shiny charm feature as a reward by completing the GalarPokédex. You need to trade the Pokémon with your family and friends. After you achieve all the 400 Pokémon, you will get the shiny charm by visiting the Circhester and staying in the very first hotel. Go to the top floor of the hotel and enter any room that appears. You will see a doctor, and he will give you the shiny charm. The chances will go to 1/458.
Shiny Pokémon Breeding
This method works in the previous game and it may or may not work in Pokémon Sword and Shield. You can use the Masuda Method when two Pokémon from different regions breed together. So try breeding two different Pokémon by online trading Pokémon. This will definitely give you the shinning Pokémon. Suppose you are getting a Chinese Butterfree from online trade, and instead you choose an English Butterfree, then your chance for getting a shiny Pokémon will increases.  If the game does not allow you to do so, then try to breed a Pokémon with Ditto. It is because Ditto is allowed to breed with every Pokémon, even the shiny ones. So trade your Pokémon for Ditto and then breed the Ditto with the Shiny Pokémon. This is the best and the possible way to get a shiny Pokémon.
Merge the Two Methods
The best and the most reliable method is this; you need to merge the shiny charm as well as catching the 25+ same Pokémon. All the methods are applicable and increase your chances towards shiny Pokémon. If you merge the two together, then you will get extra rerolls in the Pokémon Sword and Shield. So try this and increase your chance of getting a shiny Pokémon more.
