How to Schedule a Windows Defender Antivirus Scan on Windows 10?

Windows 10 comes with its security solution known as Windows Defender Antivirus. It protects your data from harmful programs such as viruses, malware, and spyware. You get complete security as it detects and deletes the threats effectively.
Plan a Windows Defender Antivirus Scan on Task Scheduler
  • First of all, go to Start.
  • Then type Task Scheduler into the search bar.
  • Click on Task Scheduler Library.
  • Select Microsoft.
  • Click on Windows.
  • Then, select Windows Defender.
  • Navigate to “Windows Defender Scheduled Scan” and right-click on it. Select Properties.
  • Thereafter you should select the Triggers button.
  • You have to choose the New tab.
  • Go to “Begin the task.
  • Click on the schedule option.
  • Click on Weekly
  • Navigate to the “Start”, decide when the process needs to run.
  • Go to the date on which you want to scan.
  • Select the OK option.
  • Alternatively, choose the Conditions button.
  • Now, click on the OK option.

  • Then you should enter “Task Scheduler” into the search bar.
  • Go to the “Task Scheduler Library” and right-click on it, then click on New Folder.
  • You have to input the name.
  • Select the OK option.
  • You have to navigate to “Task Scheduler Library” and expand it. 
  • Choose the My Task folder.
  • Later, you should select Action.
  • Thereafter go to Create Task.
  • Go to the “Name” section. Type the information.
  • Navigate to the “Security options” field.
  • Click on “Run with highest privileges.”
  • Then you should select the Triggers option.
  • Go to the New button.
  • Navigate to “Begin the task”.
  • Go to the sidebar and choose the Weekly option.
  • From “Start” settings, identify when the process should run.
  • Navigate to the week and check out the day which you would like the scan to happen.
  • You should select the OK option.
  • Then choose the Action button.
  • Go to the New option.
  • Navigate to “Action” .
  • Click on Start a program.
  • Beneath the “Settings” field, add the path.
  • Navigate to “Add arguments”, select the scan kind.
  • You have to click on the OK button.
  • Alternatively, go to the Conditions button.
  • Select the Ok tab.
