How to Disable Notifications on Mac?

The presence of notifications in your device is very helpful. For instance, it reminds you of the work that is required to be done. However, you can’t avoid the fact that plenty of applications and sites use this feature. This may hinder your work and eventually cause frustration. Luckily, it can be easily disabled. Here is how you can do so:

Disable notifications temporarily with Do Not Disturb

1. Firstly, press on the three horizontal lines. It will be located in the right part of the menu bar.
2. Then, click on Notifications.
3. Next, move upwards and search Do Not Disturb option.
4. After that, enable the Do Not Disturb option. 

Scheduling and Managing Do Not Disturb

1. Firstly, press on the Apple menu.
2. Then, click on System Preferences.
3. After that, click ‘Notifications.’
4. Next, choose ‘Do Not Disturb.’
5. Then, put the time schedule to make Do Not Disturb work by itself every day.
6. After that, put a tick on the square options you wish to select.
7. Lastly, quit system preferences.

Disable notifications for applications

1. Firstly, go to System Preferences. It will be located in the Apple menu or Dock.
2. Then, select Notifications.

4. For disabling notification for each of the application, choose ‘None’ for an alert type.

Disable notifications for sites

1. Firstly, go to Safari.
2. Then, press on the Safari menu.
3. After that, select Preferences.
4. Next, click on the Website options.
5. After that, choose Notification. It will be placed in the left-hand part.
6. Then, see the list of sites that have asked permission for displaying notifications.
7. Ensure that all of them are set to ‘Deny.’ If it is not, press on the pull-down menu and select Deny.
8. Lastly, clear the square option placed in the end, which states ‘‘Allow websites to ask for permission to send push notifications’’.

Disable notifications in Chrome

1. Firstly, go to Chrome.
2. Then, write the given order in the address bar: chrome://settings
3. After that, move downwards on the page.
4. Next, select Advanced.
5. Then, choose Content Settings. 
6. After that, press on Notifications.
7. Lastly, you need to tap on the switch given at the beginning of the page. It should read ‘Blocked.’
